Meet Moxie Azevedo
Moxie Azevedo’s racing journey began during the COVID era in 2021, when her dad took her to K1 Speed for the first time. What started as a simple outing quickly turned into something much bigger. From her very first sessions, Moxie showed natural speed — even setting a track record that stood for years.
As she moved into faster and more competitive karts, the challenge grew. At first, the transition was tough. She found herself struggling to keep up and often finishing behind others. But instead of stepping away, Moxie embraced the challenge. Through the losses and difficult races, she developed something far more valuable than early wins — grit, perseverance, and the determination to keep pushing forward no matter the result.
Her progression eventually led her to race at COTA Karting, where she worked hard to earn a place in the COTA Karting Drivers Program, allowing her to compete despite being under the usual age requirement. Soon after, life brought a new chapter when she moved to Colorado, where she has continued to sharpen her skills and grow as a driver with every lap.
Along the way, Moxie has built an impressive start to her racing career, earning multiple wins and podium finishes while also attracting the attention of several sponsors. Her next step will see her competing in the Overdrive Raceway Springs League, continuing her climb through the ranks of competitive karting.
Looking ahead, Moxie dreams of racing at the highest levels of motorsport, with goals of competing in series such as the MX-5 Cup, IMSA, or the World Endurance Championship. She is deeply inspired by Lewis Hamilton — not only for his incredible talent behind the wheel, but also for the way he uses his platform to stand up for women’s rights and basic human rights around the world.
