Meet Alex Schomer

Some racers find their passion on the track — but for 7-year-old Alex Schomer, racing found him. What started as a fun father-son outing at Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) in 2023 quickly turned into a defining moment. The thrill of that first two-person kart ignited something special, and from that day on, Alex knew he belonged behind the wheel.

Not long after, he discovered Comer Kid Karts and took his first steps into competitive racing. From his earliest laps, his natural talent and focus stood out — and his determination only grew stronger with each race. In 2025, that hard work paid off when Alex claimed the LO206 Cadet Championship at AMP, a huge milestone that showed just how far passion and perseverance can take you, even at such a young age.

Looking ahead to 2026, Alex is ready for new adventures — traveling to more tracks, racing against tougher competition, and continuing to grow as a driver and a person. When he’s not on the circuit, you’ll often find him practicing on his simulator at home, perfecting every detail, or excelling in second grade with the same focus he shows in racing.

Outside of karting, Alex is all heart — he loves playing baseball, going fishing, and spending time with his two little sisters, who are always cheering him on.
